This project involves comprehensive tower and ground work at a cell tower site. The tower work requires removal of nine existing antennas and all RRHs, followed by installation of multiple new RRUs across specified antenna positions. Ground work includes removing legacy DC power equipment, relocating 24V devices, converting the DC power plant voltage from 48V to 58V, and installing new Vertiv DC converters and battery racks with high-capacity batteries. Additionally, new BBU equipment will be installed, ensuring the site’s power and radio systems are upgraded to support enhanced network performance.
Perform tower work involving the removal of nine existing antennas and all associated Remote Radio Heads (RRHs). Specifically, remove six NHH4-65C-R6-V3 antennas located at positions A1, A3, B1, B3, C1, and C3. Install three RRU 4478 B77G B77 antennas at positions A1, B2, and C2. Additionally, install three RRU 4491 B5/B12 units cabled to A1, B1, and C1; three RRU 4491 B30 units cabled to A1, B1, and C1; three RRU 4490 B25/B66 units cabled to A1, A3, B3, and C3; and three RRU 4494 B14/B29 units cabled to A3, B3, and C3.
For ground work, remove all existing Vertiv 48-24V DC converters from the current DC power plant. Remove all Nokia Baseband Unit (BBU) equipment following network migrations. Relocate existing 24V equipment as required. Convert the existing DC power plant from 48V to 58V operation. Install six Vertiv 48-58V DC converters within the existing DC power plant. Install one 48V Vertiv battery rack adjacent to the existing DC power plant, equipped with two 48V strings of 190Ah batteries. Install 64/7 BBU equipment in the existing equipment rack. Ensure the existing 200A battery disconnect remains in place and operational throughout the upgrade.
