Sewer Lateral Replacement and Compliance Testing with Regulatory Requirements

This project involves replacing the sewer lateral from the building to the curb cleanout, including testing the lateral to ensure compliance with applicable standards. The scope includes repair or replacement of the building sewer located solely on the property. Sewer lateral (SL) and cleanout (X) are required beyond the property line. An overflow device may be necessary depending on site conditions. When excavation occurs within 25 feet of a survey monument, compliance with State Law 8771 is mandatory. Prior to excavation, the inspector must be contacted to avoid a minimum fine of $5,800 for non-compliance. A valid USA (Underground Service Alert) ticket number and date must be provided to obtain the permit, which is valid for 90 days. If the work is on a designated creekside property, a creek protection permit is required. For properties not flagged as creekside but where work is performed within 100 feet of a creek channel, a creek determination must be conducted to assess applicability of the creek protection ordinance.
