I want to formally complain about the phone call I received yesterday afternoon from Michael from Able Heating & Cooling. I received the call in the afternoon around 2:00 or 3:00 and Michael explained to me that the work they did at my Grandmother's house was done and he wanted to be paid. I told him that I was in the middle of working and could take care of in a little bit. He proceeded to tell me that he wanted to get paid right then and to give him my credit card numbers over the phone. I told him that I would first like to see an invoice for the work that was done and he said to pay him now and he'd send an invoice later. At this point I started to get a little upset by this crazy strong arm tactic. It really made no sense to me and felt like it could even be a scam. I don't feel comfortable giving my credit card numbers to someone over the phone that I've never met or talked to that claims I owe him for work done at my grandmother's house. So I told him I was running a business and didn't have time to stop everything and pay him and that I didn't believe I should without first seeing an invoice from the company. He mumbles something and finally says OK and to pay him as soon as I can that afternoon. THEN he asks if I received the voicemail he left earlier with his phone number and to call him on that number..and did I get the voicemail? Did I write the number down? I said NO I didn't listen to the voicemail because I'm grinding and welding on and concentrating on metal work with my employees and I don't have time to jump to go see who left a VM every few minutes. So, over the last few minutes of the call his phone seems to be breaking up and I had to say several times "are you there?" and it becomes apparent that he's pushing mute on his phone periodically and then coming back. So then he asks if I can hold for a minute and I kinda got more upset at this point and said NO I can't hold, I'll pay you as soon as I can and then I hung up. Jeeeeez!! What the heck is up with that?!I looked at the invoice this morning and see that the amount owed is a whopping $88! Oh my God! What was the big hurry?! I am very upset about this.... I thought about it the whole rest of the day and night yesterday and really feel that this is terrible customer service. I'm just trying to help my Grandmother out to get her house sold and I get treated like this for $88?!!So this morning I find out that he made my realtor pay for it on her credit card??! Not cool. If this is your company policy I think you need to review it and re-thin the way you treat customers. The world doesn't work like this. I make and sell guitars and I rarely get paid sooner than 30 days after I ship instruments to the customers!!
