I would love to review this company based on their actual performance, but I can't. On April 20th, 2011, Kyle came over to take measurements for a replacement window and siding bid - I live in a duplex where I own half (I'm the only one needing windows). When he drove up, he found that my neighbor's brother was someone he went to school with and was chatting with him. Through my neighbor's brother, Kyle learned that we had a pretty low bid from a guy my neighbor knows who is in business for himself. At that point, I had no idea they had this conversation, just that they went to school together. Kyle was very friendly and professional during the visit. He told me he would probably have the window bid by the end of the week and the siding bid during the next week, via email. After he left, I let my neighbor know about the timeline and she, not Kyle, was the one to tell me that he told her brother that they almost certainly would be more expensive. So I waited and heard nothing from Kyle that week about windows. I waited through the next week and still no communication. This week, I called on Monday and left a message with a person. I also sent 1 email, thinking that maybe he had my email incorrect in some way. No response. Late on Wednesday, I called again - message again, letting them know I had called on Monday with no response. Finally, I called again today at 4:30pm. Kyle was in finally and informed me that his boss made the decision yesterday to not submit a bid. Supposedly, his boss sent an email yesterday to let me know but I have received nothing.Apparently, his boss did not want to ruin their reputation by submitting a bid that would be substantially higher than someone else's bid. I appreciate their right to refuse to bid a job; however, their extremely unprofessional manner in letting me know was unacceptable. For me, they have ruined their reputation instead by showing themselves to be consummately unprofessional. They have taken information from a non-homeowner and instead of talking to me about whether we're only interested in the lowest bidder or if we're willing to pay a little more to have the peace of mind of an established firm, they made a decision and then did not bother themselves to let me know. Had Kyle spent 2 minutes talking to me about some numbers and his doubts when he came for the measurements, we could have figured out then and there if they were going to be firmly outside our budget or if it would be worth their time to do the work up.
