This project involves excavation work by a Spire/Missouri Gas Energy crew to repair a test station located at 4941 Overton Avenue. The excavation requires digging a 2-foot by 4-foot hole in the dirt at the specified location, which is 8 feet east edge of Evanston Avenue and 31 feet south edge of Overton Avenue. This repair addresses the issue at 9728 E 50th Street as indicated on the project drawings. Since the work is on a residential street and the contractor holds valid annual traffic control stickers, a traffic control permit is not required provided the work is completed within 72 hours while maintaining two-way directional traffic flow. Traffic control and signage must comply with Part 6 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). If maintaining two-way directional traffic flow is not feasible, the contractor must obtain a traffic control permit through Compass KC prior to commencing excavation work in the roadway. All traffic control measures must be implemented in accordance with applicable safety standards to ensure minimal disruption and safe passage for residents and vehicles.
