This project requires the construction of an 80’x60’ insulated pre-engineered metal building with eight bays featuring electrically operated roll-up doors, a 20-foot lean-to, and essential interior finishes such as plywood walls and lighting with controls. The facility will house heavy equipment for Travis Natural Resources’ management of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. The project involves the construction of a new insulated pre-engineered metal building measuring 80 feet by 60 feet, installed on a concrete slab foundation. The building will feature eight back-to-back bays, consisting of four bays with 14-foot-high electrically operated roll-up overhead doors and four bays with 12-foot-high electrically operated roll-up overhead doors. Additionally, the structure will include a 20-foot lean-to attached to one side, two man doors, and a minimum of two exterior windows.
Interior requirements include plywood perimeter walls up to eight feet in height, suspended lighting fixtures equipped with occupant controls and sensors, and approximately two duplex electrical outlets per bay. No interior plumbing will be installed.
Access to both sides of the building will be provided by asphalt paved approaches, which the owner may choose to construct separately from the main building contract.
The building will serve as a storage and maintenance facility for Travis Natural Resources’ heavy equipment used in managing the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.
The project scope also includes the installation of a guttered rainwater collection system adjacent to the building. This system will collect and store rainwater to supply a future native plant nursery located nearby.
All components must comply with applicable building codes and standards, ensuring durability, functionality, and security, including the installation of one exterior security camera to monitor the site.
