This project involves temporarily relocating twelve Verizon antennas and associated equipment to facilitate structural upgrades on a commercial building. The work includes rerouting hybrid lines, removing and replacing palm pineapple and fronds, installing a new steel monopalm extension, and reinstalling the lightning rod. After structural modifications, the antennas will be relocated back to their original elevation using existing mounts. The contractor is also responsible for painting the antennas to match the tower, applying foundation coating, and ensuring complete cleanup and disposal of materials upon project completion.
1. Temporarily relocate the existing twelve Verizon antennas and associated equipment currently installed at approximately 50 feet elevation. Use the provided temporary T-arm mount to reposition the antennas below the flange at approximately 40 feet elevation. Refer to Detail 1 on Sheet A-2 for azimuth orientations.
2. Reroute the existing two 2-inch hybrid lines from inside the pole to the outside temporarily, if required, to facilitate antenna relocation.
3. Remove the existing palm pineapple structure located at approximately 48 feet elevation. Additionally, remove or cut the existing palm fronds between approximately 48 feet and 50 feet elevation, following the detail on Sheet A-2.
4. If necessary, cut off the existing top flange and install a new flange plate (FP-12) at approximately 50 feet elevation as detailed on Sheet A-2.
5. Install a new monopalm section fabricated from HSS 12.750 x 0.375 A500 Grade B (45 ksi) steel, extending from approximately 50 feet to 70 feet elevation. Refer to Sheet A-2 for installation details.
6. Reinstall the existing lightning rod at the top of the new monopalm extension in accordance with Detail 3 on Sheet A-2.
7. Install new palm fronds, designed and supplied by others, at the top of the monopalm. Installation must comply with the manufacturer's instructions.
8. Relocate the twelve Verizon antennas and associated equipment from approximately 40 feet elevation back to approximately 50 feet elevation, reusing the existing T-arm mount and mounting pipes. Follow azimuth orientations as shown in Detail 1 on Sheet A-2.
9. Paint the Verizon antennas and mounting hardware to match the tower color for a uniform appearance.
10. Apply protective coating to the foundation as specified.
11. Upon project completion, the contractor shall be responsible for the thorough cleanup, removal, and proper disposal of all excess materials and debris generated during the work.
